2 Days private Zagora Desert

Escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakech on this 2-day trek through southern Morocco. Cross the Atlas Mountains, visit a UNESCO-listed Kasbah, and ride a camel through the desert. Spend the night in the middle of the desert at a campsite in the dunes.

Spend two days exploring mountainous and desert landscapes, as well as traditional Moroccan towns and villages with an experienced guide.

Day 1 :

Depart Marrakech at 9:00 am in a modern, air-conditioned minibus and head for the Atlas Mountains. Drive through the range, enjoying magnificent views of the surrounding countryside and snow-capped mountains. You will soon arrive at Kasbah Aït Benhaddou, an ancient fortified village that exemplifies traditional Moroccan terracotta architecture.

Then continue to Ouarzazate for lunch at a local cafe or restaurant. Continue along the Draa Valley to reach the town of Zagora. Here you will meet your camels, who will take you on a 1.5 hour trek through the dunes. From the top of these tall, sometimes graceful animals, you will have breathtaking views of the desert en route to your camp in the dunes.

Day 2:

After a traditional Berber breakfast, depart just before sunrise for another 1.5-hour camel ride to get the best views of the changing colors of the sky. Return to Zagora by camel and say goodbye to your travel companion.

From Zagora, return to the Atlas Mountains by minivan, with plenty of stops for photos and lunch. You will arrive in Marrakech between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and be taken to your hotel.
